-Danza let the wanderer settle in and saw Rye shaky and knows colts are not use to strangers, Danza let Shasta explain to him about the wanderers and soon trotted over back to the herd to check on them once more today. Soon Danza walked over and ate some pine needles, as she ate Danza watched Kharis as she settled to the pine needles. This time of season Ozean has met alot of new mares or wanderers, and they all are really nice.-

She tried the pine needles which tasted nasty to her for she was used to grass and oats. However, she did her best and ate them until she was full, if there was nothing else, she had no choice. Kharis trotted closer to them, lowering her head she said ''If you don't mind, could I stay here for a while?''

I looked toward the kind mare, glad that she took to the more wild side of life. "That would be just fine," I said with a smile. "But, much like Rye will have to go trough a little later, you must be taught how to stand up for yourself. Not many will do so for you. When would you like your training to begin? I will be your leader."

-Danza listened to Shasta and smiled and Danza soon nickered to Kharis "That will be just fine like Shasta said..." Danza nickered kindly. Danza soon introduced Kharis to the herd members, Danza wanted Kharis to get use to the herd members so she won't be so shy or nervous around Uluru kind herd. Danza hoped introducing Kharis to the herd didn't bother her.-

(I believe Magic wanted to be part of the Ozean herd, and she might not come on often, and I'll tell her to make sure to be a horse on Monday. This is probably her first time RPing so she was very confused.)

''Whenever is fine'' she said, being confident. Being taught how to survive in the wild would certainly benefit her, Kharis wouldn't let something like this go. She walked around, inspecting the clearing. She had so many questions but she wouldn't ask them now.

Kharis walked to the edge, staying where the herd could see her, great part of the land could be seen from there. ''Aut ubi sum?'' she switched to Latin with ease, she wished for the herd to not see her weakness. ''Si hoc voluit me mater mea viderem turbaretur; sum pulmentum, sicut ipsa docuisti me nihil esse.'' she whispered to herself, not wanting them to hear.

Her hooves could be heard as she cantered back Shasta like if nothing had happened. ''I think I'm ready'' she neighed, eager to begin her training.

OOC. translations: ''Where am I? If my mother could see me like this she would be upset; I'm a mess, nothing like she taught me to be.''

I nodded, smiling. I gestured for her to follow me into a small enclosed clearing, that was as flat as the forest could get. I nodded to Danza to watch the herd before pulling into this clearing. I turned to Kharis, her at an about face. "First things first. 8 laps around the clearing at a gallop. Let's get warmed up." As soon as she took off, I went after, running with her head at my shoulder. I figured I'd be excersizing too, so I might as well join the warm-up. I went at a slightly quicker speed, though, since I was used to being on my feet 24/7.

She began galloping as fast as she could, she had barely any energy left, though for she had arrived at the island not long ago. Once she was done, she turned to Shasta ''what now?'' her breathing was hard and she felt like just laying down and rest but she was determined to continue.

When we were finished, I noticed Kharis was quite breathless. I wasn't much better. I nodded to her, "Let's walk a few laps and catch our breath," I suggested, walking off. I turned to Kharis, noting, "You don't have to rush yourself right away. I probably should have started you with fewer laps, but it helped me get an idea where you were at." I took a large intake of breath, "And apparently I need to run more too!" I teased. After we both caught our breath, I turned to the middle of the clearing.

"Now," I began, "We will start with learning to defend against predators. Rival horses will come later, for that's not a threat at the moment," I added, thinking of Bandit, Kiro, and the kindness Strum had showed us. "The first thing you want to do is run. It's natural. But when you have a whole herd to care for, it's not always the best option," I concluded, remembering of Glory this time, and how she was killed by the alligator many moons ago.

"So, lets say that I was a big ol' wolf. Do you have any idea where you would want to hit me? Just tell me for now. The actual battle moves will come later."

-Danza watched as Shasta and Kharis went for their training, Danza trotted back to the herd and kept watched of them while Shasta and Kharis do their business. Danza knew Kharis would do great at her first day of training. Yet Danza has some questions for her about what her life was before. Danza knows everyone doesnt like to be reminded of the past, just like her own past history.-

Kharis nodded at everything Shasta said, the mare had all of her attention; it was rare the times she had such interest in a thing but this was necessary. She hesitated for a moment before answering Shasta's question ''Belly?'' she said.

I nodded curtly, "Close. If you were fighting a horse or even a buck with an attitude, than definatly. But for the animals with their stomachs tucked under their backs, the spine is the best way to go. The nerves are pretty thick there, so it can shock them pretty bad." I looked around, finding a small, dead log. "Come over here." I faced the tree from it's side, I reared up, not too far up, just a bit. I came down with great force, the flat of my hooves hitting the bark, that gave through it's death. "See how I didn't go too far up? If you do, then the wolf, or any predator will be able to catch your gut. Note I used the flat part of my hoof. Don't do that." I explained further, "I just didn't do that becuase I didn't want to get my hooves stuck in a tree." I laughed gently, imagining the odd image.

-Danza heard a crack and trotted over to their training, Danza peeked and just saw it was a fallen tree that they had struck. Danza listened to Shasta's training tips and actually learned something new about how to defend yourself or the herd. Danza soon trotted back to the herd to make sure they were safe. While Danza looks around the area she perked her ear in case anything might show up by surprise. It may be hibernation for some animals here but you never know, it's better to be safe than sorry.-
